From beginning to end this book is like a magical roller coaster - you can barely catch a breath before the next loop gets you and you're diving then swooping (these words are so appropriate to this book) through a new discovery or development.I am utterly in awe of not only the incredibly detailed stories (with plot within plot within plot within plot) that Lucia creates but also how marvelously they are written – you feel the angst, the confusion, the sadness, the fears and you run the full gamut of emotion with the characters – except for those whose motives must remain hidden until the final reveal. And her execution is just so blooming poetic! I am quite convinced that Lucia Ashta possesses a deep magic herself.The depiction of the different parts of the world that Selene finds herself in, the description of every situation and every character is so clear and so incredibly detailed that it's quite easy to feel like a bit of a voyeur as you travel through the pages.I enjoyed Selene so much and her very real reactions to the situations she finds herself in and the special people she meets. I love that she’s not seemingly exceptionally brave (at least not as a naturally inherent quality) but that she does have moments of exceptional bravery stemming from a real quality of genuinely caring for others. I also think there’s more fire inside her than even she realizes. I so look forward to getting to know her better.I loved most of the characters in this book – the exception being quite specifically a dodgy, selfish creature who might, or might not, end up surprising me. But I doubt it because the level of… distaste… I have for her feels quite limitless at this point. But I will enjoy being proven right. Hopefully…As the beginning of a new series, this first installment is… magic. And it bodes so well for what’s to come. I wish it was sooner – June is forever away!

Oh, and if that isn't enough, her appearance has sounded the bell all across the magical kingdom and everyone wants to come steal her away, or rather her powers.She is introduced to fairies and witches and more magic in one day than she has been exposed to in her 18 years. Life has just gotten very interesting door this young lady who, until this day, believes she was powerless.What an interesting world she has found herself in. Let the wild games begin!!
I have read many of this author's books and I love how they intertwine. The characters are just fascinating. Magic, danger, surprise, wonder, wars, loyalty, romance.. power ...it's all in her books. And I just finished Sirangel and I just may like this one best so far (and that's saying something since they are all amazing!)! This wonderful half siren, half angel is trying to find her place in the world, and there are terrible supernatural creatures after her, ready to steal the power she doesn't even know she has yet. But she has magical fairies and others on her side. You really need to get this book. In fact, get ALL Lucia Ashta's books, they are all so much fun with their magic, intrigue and great characters. You never know what's going to happen next. So you keep reading.... Love it!
OMG! Talk about totally rocking this new series from the start. Lucia once again leaves me in awe. Such depth and individuality. Strong characters, amazing storyline with an outstanding plot keeps you immersed till the end. Twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches and scrapes really bring this bad boy roaring to life flawlessly. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it's easy to get drawn into this incredibe work of art. Remarkable job Lucia, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advanced Reader Copy of this story.
Wow a Fantastic read. If your a lover of Fantasy and Shape Shifters and other Supernatural Creatures. You will love this read, Shes a Sirangel that when hitting a place thats not her home, she is in danger of others wanting to take what she has. She meets Quinn can he help her in her fight to stay out of the grasp of those wanting her, to take her powers. This is the first book in the series and the Author has really blown this read out of the park. This is definitely a home run. A Must Read.Shauna Joesten
Imagine waking up a siren and before the day is out, you have wings and are out of your element. This is what happens to Selene on one of the most important days of her life. Discovering you are a hybrid and everyone wants you for themselves is even more scary. I can't wait to read the next in the series.
As always, I really enjoyed this book by Lucia Ashta. She's great at character development...so much so that your sad to get to the end of a character's storyline. The only reasons I gave this a 4 star reviewI was 1) even though this is a stand alone story, you can tell that you've missed a lot of the characters story because you didn't read the series previous to this one. I'll definitely be going back to read the Magical Creatures Academy to get caught up.... 2) I would have liked to see more of a conclusion to parts of story. I know it's the beginning of a series, but this one just didn't feel as complete as some of her other works. That said, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!
