I have read a small portion, but I do have some thoughts to discuss. The setup of the plot feels a bit predictable, but the setup of the world of Geoffrey J. Aguirre’s novel Bringing Them Back is extraordinary. Maybe that is simply because I am a science fiction fan, and all stories of utopias that I have come across involve trouble in paradise, literally (Examples includeThe Giver, the SpongeBob Squarepants episode “Squidville,” the Earth Kingdom in Avatar: The Last Airbender, 1984, the planet Miranda in the Firefly/Serenity universe, etc.). There is so much detail to look into when it comes to this novel! This novel starts off a little slowly because it is full of depth in its description of the surroundings and characters. It starts off in a place that is slightly familiar to me personally, the Hawai’ian island of Kauai. The first chapter definitely brings the reader into the world of this novel, focusing strongly on the depth of imagery. Even the smallest thing, a mosquito bite, to be exact, is strongly detailed. There is thoughtful commentary on life, perfection, and individuality. This novel is telling a solid story that points out that a true utopia is unattainable. No matter how developed technology becomes, or how far science will go, there will always be problems in the world. For example, even with the eradication of many diseases due to vaccines, there are factions of people who believe that the vaccines (which are harmless to humans) cause problems to people, anyway, and they refuse to receive (and/or allow their children) a one-time injection that could save their lives. In this utopian future, there are no diseases. Malaria is not a problem. Someone *actually* figured out cures for viruses. I enjoyed that idea for the duration of what I have read. This novel is meticulously thought out. This novel seems to have a clear path.It feels more like a commentary on the world and human nature than it does plot and character, much like Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein.And furthermore, the novel also makes thoughtful commentary about means of communication. It suggests that the average twenty-five year-old in the world of the novel has mastered at least five languages, and it gives meta-commentary that humans used to struggle learning even one language and gave up on even trying to master that. It is poignant in description of it. I feel that I probably should not get too attached to Kenny or any of the other students, who all feel like foils for their instructor: Kyna Roman. Kyna is a strong character. So far, I like her. Having strong main characters will always thicken the plot with complexities. I do believe that I will continue reading this novel, as now I am invested in the book and need to know how it ends.I must say that Geoffrey J. Aguirre has quite the imagination. I feel like will enjoy the story as I go further.

Bringing Them Back by Geoffrey James Aguirre is a Utopian science fiction novel which is a different genre than what I normally read but nevertheless I enjoyed what I read so far (the first 2 chapters). It’s a book I enjoyed reading which is rare due to the excellent representation of the broad and futuristic world filled with technology and the exceptional mental images created by Geoffrey J. Aguirre.The story starts off with the introduction of one of the characters in the story, Kenneth Winright (he prefers to be called Kenny) who is adventuring through a tropical area searching for a series of bird species for his group. He finds some small Hawai’ian plants near some lava rock formation which leads him to find some Palila, which he takes a picture of on his Transition Assistant which is a small handheld device he and others use to record data on various species and life forms. He is bitten by a mosquito and feels pain but he has no worry of getting malaria or any other disease for that matter due to the huge medicinal advances the people have developed. He continues further down the mountain and regroups with the others and make their way to the beach where Kyna Roman is waiting for their results on their searches. Kyna is an instructor who is nervous about giving her lecture as she believes that first impressions determine relationships. Kenneth is disappointed that he only found 6 of the 30 birds they were supposed to find which prompts Kyna to investigate. Others in the group weigh in and Kyna realizes that the shortage of birds is caused by the abundance of mosquitos in the area which leads them to a bigger discovery of a possible mass extinction caused by a foreign ship dumped barrels of water infested with mosquito larvae.There is a strong emphasis on the characters’ communication since the very beginning and it is interesting to see what these figures of Aguirre’s imagination say or think about the odd situations presented to them. For example, Kyna takes the time to pause and think about how her group will be react to the impression she is giving off to them before she continues with what she’s saying. Quite a few of the other characters in the story possess unique traits and speech patterns any fan of utopian sci-fi would enjoy expanding their imagination with.One of the biggest things I enjoyed about the self-published title is the extensive amount of detail Aguirre puts into the advanced and high-tech world that is this futuristic portrayal of Earth. Their technology is incomparable to ours as they create a clone of a dead person and basically bring people back to life and keep themselves free of disease and other dangers.That alone was what grabbed my focus and made me think for the first couple of pages and as the story continued to unfolded I found myself deep in this challenging, yet satisfying adventure. I have always been intrigued by the idea of everlasting life and what the pros and cons of it would be like so naturally I will continue to read it and hopefully enjoy the rest of it.

Very extraordinariy novel by Geoffrey James Aguirre it has a lot of details and the structure of life and death how they connect the author really has the extra ordinary imagination for his book it gets even better when you go further along the story. The characters are very strong in this novel I haven’t read the whole novel yet but I can say it’s something most people wanna read these days. Starting from the first chapter it brings you the focus and attention you wanna give to an interesting novel every small thing like a touch or a bite is very detailed in this novel. This novel starts off slowly because it has so much depth in it I think I’m gonna enjoy it even more when I finish this book to know what happened in the end.
