This book is good, but when I took the test at the back of the book, and looked at the answer I started getting very confused.In the book it says phonemical awareness can be taught with the students’ eyes closed, but in the answer key it says phonological awareness.There is also a math question: (3x9)^4=The answer is (3x9)+(3x9)+(27x27)......I answered (3x9)+(3x9)+(3x9)+(3x9) which is the right answer.Make sure you check the answer key, and compare with the book. Or don’t take the exam from the book otherwise you may learn wrong information without knowing it.

I have been studying for 3 weeks now and have been finding a lot of typo errors. The format of the book is excellent but I will not rely on it completely.

Did not feel this book was very helpful and the Practice Tests they offer online are the worst. There are 3 tests and they all ask you the same questions, sometimes in the same test you are asked the same question 2 or 3 times.

Great material that is all needed when studying for this test!! It is all layed out in an outline and has 3 practice tests in the back. Don't be intimidated by its huge size, the front section is mostly outlines and some study tips and the back is full of tests so the core material is in the middle and it's a huge section but it's all excellent material.

The content of the book was great! I used the book with my fourth grade class as we talked about Jamestown. The students enjoyed reading the graphic novel.The bad part is the books will fall apart within the first few times they are used. On the second day of using the book the majority of the pages were falling out, not from one but from all the books. I have had to tape the pages back into every book I ordered.

The content of this Graphic Library series is perfect for ESL/EFL. My students find them very interesting. Unfortunately, the paperbacks in this series do not hold up. Some magazines can last a year under heavy, but careful use. These paperbacks can only be read a handful of times before they fall apart. I'd be willing to shell out a little more for something more durable, but the library binding is too expensive for such a short book.

I am a teacher and my students absolutely love these books! I would give them 5 stars, but they are cheaply made and pages start falling out after only a small amount of use.

Great book for kids in order to keep them reading and learning about history. Fast shipping You can't go wrong with this one.

Like the other reviewer, I teach ESOL (high school age) students. And like that other reviewer, I find this series very useful. It's not dumbed down -- it's solid enough to hold the interest of a teenager -- and it's good at grabbing the interest of people who might not have a deep interest in US history. Very useful take on the beginnings of British colonies in America.

Little more than a comic book. Not really usefulfor a young person who wants something of substance.Useful for third grade and below.

I didn't realize this was more like a comic book. I wanted a child's book told about Jamestown e.g. candle making, glass making, etc., etc. This has nothing like that at all. The explanation was not good. I was very disappointed.

If Seth Andrew's wrote it, you should just buy it. It's all great.This one is a hilarious look at bizarre religious practices around the world. I learned a lot that I didn't know before. Wildly entertaining and informative.

I've been listening to Seth's podcast's, watching his videos and seminars, and reading his words for some time now. So, I wasn't sure if this book would be more of the same from what I've already experienced. While it certainly contains similar themes, overall this book had me both in stitches and mouth agape as I discovered the strange and bizarre practices we humans are capable for the sake of belief in an afterlife and higher power. From religion to tradition, Vikings to Mormons to the Church of Euthanasia, Seth writes in a very tongue-in-cheek way that STICKS in your brain. If you're a fan of his voice, you'll hear it shine throughout each page. You wind up chuckling, smiling, and shocked at the content of his story telling. He fact checks everything, reads/cites strange doctrine, and provides footnotes for his sources, while continually keeping you entertained throughout. I've been reading it slow to make sure I fully digest every tidbit he has served up in this fun little gem!

I have to admit that I have had some minor acquaintance with both the writer and the artist. But I had no idea how entertaining a book could be and was blown away by both the humor but common sense they've gifted to readers. If you do not like this book, then I'm sorry to say that you have not a speck of a sense of humor in you. Just turning the pages makes me smile. Even if the subject matter is not something you'd normally show interest in - I can promise that you will be entertained by the short chapters and the writing style.

I haven't read Seth's first book yet, but I think the tone of that first book was very serious, while this one is not. It's funny, light-hearted and the illustrations are great, but Seth is also careful to target the beliefs, without needlessly ripping on the followers. If you've followed his podcast, you know what to expect. If not, you're in for a treat.

Perhaps the start of critical thinking is to be able to look at our sacred cows... But it is painful as a believer especially in a rude or irreverent manner...and all sorts of feelings surface even anger at the author but at the end it does make one wonder why one didn't question earlier.

A delightful tour of the quacks, cranks, and others who promote and subscribe to things they, and a lot of people, actually believe in. Signs pointing to human gullibility, and a humorous approach to the strangeness of human beliefs makes me not only highly recommend this tome, but do it with a huge smile.

It's very different from Deconverted, more lighthearted. I was unaware of a great many traditions. It's amazing how whatever gives us comfort is considered sacred, even if it hurts another living creature. Excellent book.

I bought this book after giving birth to my twins when I found myself battling postpartum depression. I thought I was a terrible person and horrible mother for feeling and thinking the way I was during that time. This book helped me understand the gravity of what I was trying to deal with and helped me to understand that it wasn't my fault and helped me to reach out to my family and friends to ask for the help I needed. It's been ten years since I read it and it still sticks with me. It was beautifully written and touching. A lifesaver when I was lost at sea. I would recommend this book to anyone who is expecting, or has recently given birth and may be experiencing depression when they feel like they should be filled with joy.

this is a very informative book… My daughter had a baby a few months ago and was suffering from postpartum anxiety… We bought this book and passed it around between her eye and her other grandma… It gave a lot of help and insight…

When going through postpartum depression it's the most hard and difficult thing to go through because not only do you yourself not understand it but the people around you don't either. To be able to read this book and feel normal even with all the insane hormones running through your body is a great feeling! I would even read this book over if I have a second child just because of how helpful it was to have someone to really relate to!! I never really wanted to thank any author after reading their book but after this book I feel so close to Brooke who I don't even know but wish I could just say thank you for the help.

I'm so glad Brooke had the courage to share her story. There are so many things I identified with in this book...very similar to my own struggle with PPD. It is great to hear that you are not alone...the more people talk about it the less women will have to struggle with this horrible illness.

brooke shields has done an excellent job painting a picture of one of the negative possibilities of the postpartum experience. though it took her a while to get pregnant, her pregnancy was wonderful; so it can be very surprising to read how difficult her experience was after the birth of her daughter rowan.this is an important work in many ways. first, we know that postpartum depression occurs in 10 to 20% of new moms. this makes depression the number one complication in childbirth! also, the baby blues occur in 75 to 80% of new moms. there are several other postpartum psychological disorders to be aware of as well. for instance, postpartum psychosis occurs in 1 to 2 moms per 1,000 births. though rare, this disorder can have tragic consequences (reference andrea yates).in working with patients, I recommend this and other books by celebrity figures specifically because it's amazing how healing it can be for new moms to see that women they think of as having perfect lives can still have problems after having a child. shields has done an excellent job here and writes in a very honest and descriptive fashion. she also includes resources for more information.

What a great, honest and heartfelt book. I bought this when I was about a month postpartum. I was feeling very alone and was afraid to talk about how I felt. Brooke really opens the door for discussion and bares her soul in this book. I recommend this book to all new mothers who may be feeling overwhelmed or depressed.

This book was a very quick and easy read. I myself had been wondering if the feelings I had postpartum were lingering baby blues or postpartum depression. I identified with many of the feelings/thoughts that Brooke describes in this book. I realized it is more common than I thought. Reading about another person going through this and deciding to get help, gave me the courage to seek help and talk to a doctor. I only wish I had read it sooner! I would recommend this to everyone to read! New moms, expecting moms, spouses/partners, close friends and family. Excellent!

This is a really cool book because it talks about postpartum depression. It is a difficult thing to talk about. It's wonderful that Brooke wrote it though because it shows that it happens to people from many different walks of life. I gave it to my sister to read after I finished it and it helped her recognize what and why she felt the way she did after giving birth to her third and fourth children.
